Poekoelan Tjimindie Tulen is a unique and empowering Indonesian style of martial arts. We celebrate, inspire and support students by providing authentic martial arts in an environment of mutual respect and learning. Our approach to this beautiful art has enriched the lives of thousands of people.
Poekoelan is an Indonesian word meaning "a series of blows with returning hands and feet."
Tjimindie means "beautiful flowing waters."
Tulen means "original."
Poekoelan is Compassionate Balanced Action. It is a world class martial art: A celebration of much love, dedication, discipline and fortune that provides practitioners an art through which they can engage in the marvelous process of life and training.
Poekoelan's beautiful, flowing movements are like water and bamboo; fluid and circular, spiraling and continuous, graceful and whip-like. Movement in Poekoelan is inspired by four animals; the tiger, the snake, the monkey and the crane. Through these animals, we explore the dualities of soft/hard, fast/slow, small/large, fierce/playful, circular/angular and high/low. Each practitioner's movement is beautiful and unique.

Students come together from around the world to train with Mas Goeroe Agoeng Barbara Niggel, head of Poekoelan Tjimindie Tulen. This is an opportunity for all students to experience Poekoelan training at its highest level. It is a wonderful time of community, learning, and celebration honoring Mas Goeroe Agoeng Willy Wetzel.
This year's camp is open to all ranks, 1st stripe white belt and above. For teens and adults, 12 and up.

One With Heart draws from Indonesia, China, India and the Philippines to offer weapon workshops designed to improve health and fitness by developing strength, agility and correct body alignment.

Level one- June 15th, 10am - 12pm:
Learn basic footwork, twirling, blocking, striking combinations and disarms. Tavis Johannson, 3rd degree Arnis Black Belt and Sage Peterson, 2nd degree Arnis Black Belt will share their experience of years of training with the Presas family lineage of Arnis.
Level two- June 22nd, 10am - 12pm:
This class offers an introduction to the double baston system. You will develop fluid striking and blocking techniques and learn empty hand and knife defense. Tavis Johannson, 3rd degree Arnis Black Belt and Sage Peterson, 2nd degree Arnis Black Belt will share their experience of years of training with the Presas family lineage of Arnis.
Experience a better way to workout and discover why so many people have switched to functional fitness. Get started in the CrossFit Elements program with 3 sessions a week for 4 weeks to learn the proper technique of the 12 Olympic weight lifting movements used in CrossFit.
CrossFit workouts combine cardio, agility, mobility, and strength training to improve the power and fitness of all students. Classes use high intensity interval training so you will get the most out of each session. Students are encouraged to train at his or her own pace, and if you're not sure what that pace is we will help by scaling load and intensity to accommodate any ability level.

CrossFit workouts combine cardio, agility, mobility, and strength training to improve the fitness of any student. Classes use high intensity interval training and each person moves at their own pace. We use functional movements that allow the body to learn how to lift free weights safely and effectively by strengthening the knees, hips, back, core and shoulders. Students will be able to apply class training to benefit any other sport or activity.
The program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We scale load and intensity to accommodate any ability level from elderly to athlete and keep workouts sustainable. Students start in the CrossFit Elements class for 4 weeks to learn proper form in each of the 12 foundational weight lifting movements used in CrossFit.
Students must have completed CrossFit Elements, or have the instructors approval to join this class.

Your cardio workout has never been this fun before! Our one hour calorie buning, music pumping, cardio boxing class will keep you bobing and weaving your way to slimmer you. Learn boxing basics: footwork, body mechanics and punches; jab, hook, cross and uppercut. Use your whole body with every punch and experience power, speed and coordination.
This class is for all levels. Beginners learn proper techniques and you ramp up your stength and stamina . Returning students learn more advanced combinations and defensive skills. This great workout includes conditioning, core strength exercises, jump rope, and medicine ball drills and much more.
Don't be affraid to put on the gloves and take off the stress! Punch out all the tension and frustrations of the day and leave feeling refreshed.
Boxing gloves are required.

Learn power breath, pistol squat preparation skills and the Viking series. Dr. Tavis Johansson and Sage Petersen share years of study and experience in helping you advance your strength and mobility.
Build Qi (vital energy) for healing and maintaining health. Regular practice helps prevent illness and injury, and reduces the effects of tension. Qi Gong combines slow gentle movement with conscious breathing and meditation.
Cultivate greater strength and flexibility while benefiting the circulatory, respiratory, digestive system and nervous system. Receive detailed and clear instruction in this fascinating art while experiencing a whole body workout.
Bagua is an internal martial art based on the idea of bagua, the eight trigrams. This style is noted for its unique training method of practicing movements while walking in a circle. The training methods develop agile footwork and spiraling whole body movement.
Xing Yi is a traditional Chinese martial art and the oldest in the internal martial arts family. Training introduces core movement designed to develop whole body power and exercise the five Yin organs of the body: lungs, kidney, liver, heart, and spleen.
Class is taught by David Tircuit, LAc. who has a practice in downtown Portland.
Liangong is a complete set of therapeutic exercises designed for preventing and healing physical ailments based on ancient Chinese sports therapies. The movements are done softly and gently working major muscle groups, ligaments, tendons and acupressure points. These fun and easy to learn exercises are great for recovering from minor injuries or just maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Tulen Bio Energy treatment clears the body’s energetic field with the intention of restoring health and well-being. It is effective in addressing an array of life challenges including weight loss, habit conversion, trauma, stress, chronic conditions and life changes. During the treatment you remain fully clothed and there is no physical touch. The Tulen practitioner focuses his or her attention to clearing the bio-energy around the body.
